Build Layout Nodes#

Build Layout nodes are a set of nodes, such as build package, note, backdrop or dot, dedicated to improve readability and usability of your builds.

!!! New to Clarisse? To add comments to a node, click on the speech bubble icon on the Attribute Editor toolbar.

Note

These nodes aren't part of the evaluation and performs no operation.

Backdrop#

The Backdrop node allows you to surround a group of nodes with a colored backdrop. The backdrop node also acts as a proxy handle for the group of nodes it surrounds so that when you move a backdrop node, its moves its content. The node can also display the node comments if any.

Tip

Press B in the Build View to create a backdrop surrounding your selection of nodes!

Attribute Description
Title Set the title of the backdrop header.
Color Set the color of the backdrop. Note that a new color is automatically set when creating a new backdrop
Display Comments Define how comments are displayed in the Build View.
Autofit When enabled, resize automatically the backdrop according to the title and the nodes it surrounds.

Tip

Double-clicking on the header of the backdrop selects the nodes it surrounds.

Dot#

The Dot node is used to improve the layout of your graph as it creates a colored proxy to an input node that can be located somewhere else in the build. It can also be used to route connections to avoid traversing nodes. The node can also display the node comments if any.

Tip

To create a Dot in place just double-click on a link in the Build View.

Attribute Description
Color Set the color of the dot.
Size Set the size of the dot.
Display Comments Define how comments are displayed in the Build View.

Tip

Disabling a dot node is a very useful trick as it can be used as a on/off switch for incoming connections.

!!! New to Clarisse? To disable an item in Clarisse press Ctrl+D or go to Edit > Disable. To enable a disabled item press Shift+D or go to Edit > Enable

Note#

The Note node allows you add text box areas in your build. It is very useful to document part your builds.

Attribute Description
Text Define the actual text displayed by the Note.
Background Color Set the background color of the note.
Foreground Color Set the text color.
Font Size Set the text font size.
Autofit When enabled, resize automatically the backdrop according to the title and the nodes it surrounds.
